Our
main floor Banquet Room is 56’x 30”
and accommodates 175 individuals in theater-style seating. For
banquet seating, there is room for 100. Day or night, in any season,
the large windows overlooking the lake and lawns contribute to
the open, airy feeling of the space. A ramp and two additional
exits make this room accessible for all. Two restrooms are located
on this floor.
The top floor
Meeting Room is a spacious 33’x 40’ that
comfortably seats 50 at lecture tables or in a theater-seating
arrangement. Large windows provide views of the lake and lawns
as well as ventilation and natural light. Parabolic lensed overhead
lighting is easy on the eyes and provides excellent visibility.
Audio-visual equipment is available
for all your presentation needs. There are two exits for easy
access and two restrooms are available on this floor. Sorry, this
area is not handicap accessible.
Our ground level Kitchen
and Lounge is 40’ x 33' and has two exits, one
of which opens directly to our easy-access driveway, spacious
lawn, and lakefront. The lounge can accommodate a small to medium-size
group for indoor gathering. A larger group could combine use of
this indoor space with a tent on the lawn between the building
and the lake. We are happy to refer you to excellent local party
rentals for needs such as tents, outdoor seating, dance floors,
etc., as well as experienced caterers
to help you with your culinary needs.
The Spa
includes a hot tub and sauna room, shower facilities, and bathroom
and is located off the kitchen and lounge area. We offer a spa
menu and massage therapy by appointment. Trained at the Downeast
School of Massage our professional licensed massage therapists
have years of experience and talent. Whether you are planning
a meeting, retreat, or wedding, consider including some self-care
and stress relief as a part of your stragegy for a successful
event.
The
Lawn and grounds at Downeast Meeting and Banquet
Facilities border Moose Meadow Pond, a 35-acre Great Pond (lake)
that was created in the 1800s by innovative men to power a grist
mill and a saw mill. Today it provides a beautiful natural environment,
home to osprey, geese, otters, small- and largemouth bass, pickerel,
and other wildlife. Canoing and kayaking are enjoyed in summer,
while ice skating and cross-country skiing are popular in winter.
The lawn between the
building and the lake offers a convenient and picturesque location
for a tent large enough to accommodate well over 100 guests. It
is perfect for a wedding, family picnic, or corporate event. There's
also plenty of room for lawn games such as volleyball, badminton,
or even croquet!
There is plenty of
room for parking close to the building but away
from the lawn and lake. For large events, parking attendants can
be arranged. The lawn is accessible directly from the parking
lot (which is located on the opposite side of the building from
the lake) via a small paved driveway that circles around the building
to the lower level entrance.
